WIP: #42 EOD T-Shirt

6/22/19

Many months ago my nephew asked me to make him a t-shirt  quilt.  He's in the US Air Force, specializing in the EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) and has t-shirts commemorating his training and experience over the years since enlisting like these.

I've never made a t-shirt quilt so I did some research and started measuring and designing.

I also learned that it works best to use a stabilizer interfacing to help keep the t-shirt fabric from stretching when cutting and sewing.  I spent some recent evenings ironing on the stabilizer.

Here's a sneak peek at the final layout.  I'm working on the sashing (borders between the blocks) and I'll update as soon as it's done.
(I like to keep the final quilt a surprise whenever I can!)
